« n » is usually included between 4 and 40, but more accurately between 5 et 20.

ImageBiguanide groups are the active part of the PHMB.

Compared to other Biguanides, the fact that Biguanide groups are separated by a C6 aliphatic hydrocarbonated chain gives to PHMB a particularly high efficacy power on a wide range of microorganisms.

Its hydrochloric form implies PHMB has cationic properties.

ImagePHMB is not a Quaternary Ammonium Compound (QAC) but gives good synergetic disinfection solutions when blended with QACs.

ImageCAS Registry Number of PHMB is (32289-58-0) or (27083-27-8) or ( (91403-50-8).
These 3 references all describe the same product : PHMB. For more information about CAS-RN, click here.
